About me
Dr Jonathan Chua is a specialist anaesthetist with a diverse professional background spanning engineering, military service, and advanced medical training in anaesthesia. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Master of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Sydney, building upon a foundational Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Biomedical Engineering.
As a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), Dr Chua holds public consultant appointments at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) and St John of God Midland Hospital. He completed a specialised Regional Anaesthesia Fellowship at RPH, gaining extensive expertise in nerve blocks and managing complex trauma surgeries. His current clinical practice covers orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, and vascular surgery. Dr Chua is accredited at many of the private hospitals around Perth.
Outside of his professional life, he is a dedicated husband and father who enjoys mountain biking and exploring the Australian bush with his family. Dr Chua looks forward to meeting you on the day of your procedure.
